Imagine biting into a crunchy flavorful biscotti cookie while sipping hot coffee from a ceramic mug. Or savoring a bite of a soft, chewy Many Moons Molasses cookie with a cold glass of milk and it tastes just like your grandmother made it in her kitchen. Or splurging on a forkful of warm apple pie while sniffing the aromatic spices with each bite. and knowing that the apples were picked from a nearby orchard surely gives a feeling of comfort and nostalgia.
At the cafe, customers can choose from breakfast, brunch, lunch or a snack to munch on all day. The Specials of the Day are a mix of exciting flavor combinations using the freshest ingredients that our chef/baker Anastasia creates in her kitchen. Take a bite of our Grilled Cheese sandwich oozing with three cheeses and tomatoes on two thickly cut slices of Challah bread or Sourdough.

At the bake shoppe, our specialty desserts include our favorite cheesecake recipe that we developed three years ago. We now have 15+ different flavors to choose from — everything from simple classic to chocolate bacon. Other desserts that are available include our signature cookie collection, iced cookie collections, muffins, danish, pastries, indulgent cupcakes, handpies, and cakes. What an enjoyable first visit we had today. Loved the shop, from the foods to featured artists to our hosts to the overall great energy. You even had stevia for coffee! It was a truly serendipitous sojourn. :)

This place is a total treasure! I had heard good things, but was a little intimidated to try such a small place in a rather remote close-knit community. Turns out, I had nothing to fear. Both the staff and fellow customers are genuinely friendly and welcoming, and the food was FANTASTIC. I was told they had a small weekend brunch menu in addition to their bakery offerings, and was surprised by how extensive it actually was! Several mouth-watering specials, plus old standbys and an omelette bar. I was spoiled with choice! I ended up getting a scrumptious sweet challah French toast with caramelized pear and maple ricotta crema. Wow! I returned on a weekday for lunch, and had a yummy sandwich, followed by delicious cookies. There was more seating than I expected, too, tho I imagine it still gets crowded on weekend mornings – we were there late on a Sunday afternoon. The owner (Annie?) also hosts some community events. There was a cookie decorating workshop for kids on the day we went back. Super sweet!

We’ve gone for Sunday brunch several times now and it is always delicious. I love their waffles (delicately sweet) served with whatever fruit they have come across (so far local fruit), they don’t even need maple syrup. They make several types of baked goods: fruit turnovers, cookies, cupcakes…etc All I’ve tried have been super tasty–I especially love the blueberry turnovers. I’ve also had their classic cheesecake which was quite good. They have other cheesecake flavors too but I haven’t tried them yet. For savories, I highly recommend their brie and tarragon quiches.

For a town with fewer than 1,000 people, King Ferry is fortunate to have Man In the Moon Bake Shoppe! Everything I purchased here has been excellent and on par with a bakery one would find in a much larger community. The staff is professional, efficient and friendly. The cafe has a small eat-in area within the building and a larger outdoor seating area. I’m grateful for the presence of this business in King Ferry and am an avid supporter and admirer of their baked goods!

My husband, daughter and myself are frequent customers at The Man and the Moon Bake Shoppe and Cafe. We find the owners very helpful and friendly. The food is very good and is it great to be able to go out to eat and still maintain our healthy way of eating. The menu offers a variety of foods for the health conscience person. The baked goods are amazing. We have become friends with many of the regular customers which makes for a pleasing atmosphere. The owners are always willing to listen to suggestions. This is a great place to stop in and check out if you are just driving through the area.

Man in the Moon is a cheery, welcoming place with wonderful food. I am truly shocked by the negative review. Annie and Anastasia the owners make everyone feel at home and their food is homemade with love. This is not MacDonald’s so if you are in a rush it may not be the place for you (unless you take out one of their enormous cinnamon rolls – yum!) The service is leisurely but that’s just part of its charm. Try the cheesecake stuffed challah french toast with fresh strawberries and you will smile all day!
